Dive into Galapagos

On every diver’s bucket list, the Galapagos Islands are the vacation destination of a lifetime!

Lying on the equator just west of Ecuador, the Galapagos Islands were made famous by Charles Darwin and are known for their incredible quantity of native species. The Islands are one of the oldest national marine parks, boasting a massive array of marine life. As a result of warm tropical waters meeting the nutrient-rich, cooler Humbolt waters, the Galapagos see whales, tons of sharks including whale sharks, schools of hammerheads and the Galapagos Shark, along with manta rays, sea turtles, dolphins, sea lions, fur seals, penguins, marine iguanas, and more than 300 varieties of fish, 25% of which are native only to the Galapagos. We also go on two land excursions to marvel at the vast array of land-based animals that inhabit the Islands.

We are thrilled to have chartered the M/V Galapagos Sky, one of the best luxury liveaboards in the world. Each day will begin with a cooked-to-order breakfast, buffet lunch, and gourmet dinner. The exceptional crew round out our days with mid-morning and afternoon snacks to keep us fueled for more dives, and each cabin is fitted with your comfort in mind.

Join us for an adventure that you will never forget and experience the beauty of the Galapagos Island.

We are delighted to be staying on the luxury liveaboard, M/V Galapagos Sky.

Diving the Galapagos on a liveaboard is the best way to see all that the Islands have to offer, including the most remote islands that most trips don’t reach: Wolf and Darwin. We simply jump off the boat onto the yacht’s ‘tenders’ (smaller boats) and after an incredible dive, we return to Sky without any trips back to dock.

M/V Galapagos Sky has three decks on the ship:

  1. The ‘Dolphin Deck’ at the top of the ship houses the Superior Cabins and sun deck. Each cabin is spacious with a beautiful view and private bathroom / head.
  2. The affectionately named ‘Booby Deck’ contains the Gallery or lovely dining area, as well as a lounge and bar area.
  3. The ‘Iguana Deck’ houses the Deluxe Cabins, which have cute portholes and comfortable living areas with private bathroom / head for each cabin.

Each cabin is structured for double occupancy. This means that if you book as a solo diver, you will have a room with separate beds and a roommate. As a couple, we will ensure you are in a room designed for couples to share.

The M.V Galapagos Sky is a beautiful vessel with an experienced, friendly crew awaiting to take you on the journey of a lifetime.

What are your terms and conditions?

Please read our Terms and Conditions carefully. It includes all the information you need to know about booking with Scuba Getaway. You will have the option to agree to these Terms and Conditions when you make your first trip deposit.

Do you provide trip insurance?

We highly recommend you purchase trip cancellation insurance.

Do you provide dive insurance?

It’s required by Scuba Getaway and the Galapagos Sky that all divers have dive insurance. We will request proof of current dive insurance before the trip. If you need to purchase insurance, we recommend DAN (Diver’s Alert Network) or Dive Assure.

Why is July one of the best times to dive in the Galapagos?

The Galapagos typically has two distinct seasons, one of which is significantly colder than the other, but both of which offer unique opportunities to see different creatures. We have chartered the Galapagos Sky for July, which is the time when the seasons change, meaning that we will maximize our changes of seeing marine life moving both in and out of the region.

Do I have to pay everything at once?

We offer a deposit schedule for each trip so that it’s easy on your pocket book.

How does roommate selection work?

One of the benefits to booking with Scuba Getaway is that we find great divers and roommates for you, if you aren’t traveling with a friend or significant other. We don’t pair co-ed roommates and we are happy to introduce you to your roommate before the trip.

What level of certification do I need for this trip?

For our liveaboards you are required to be advanced certified. If you are in the Greater Toronto Area, our sister company Toronto Scuba Centre can help with certification, practice sessions and dive gear.

I don’t have all my own gear. Can I rent gear?

The Galapagos Sky does provide gear rentals, as does Toronto Scuba Centre. You can also purchase new gear with Toronto Scuba Centre as well.

Are you able to accommodate food allergies and/or restrictions?

The Galapagos Sky is happy to provide guests with a wide variety of options and has lots of experience dealing with food allergies.

I have never been on a liveaboard before and don’t know what to expect.
