Scuba Getaway is embarking on a new adventure to the secluded and ultra luxurious Wakatobi Dive Resort. Located on a private island all on its own in the Tukang Besi/Wakatobi archipelago, the Wakatobi resort provides exclusive access to the surrounding dive sites. In a tranquil island setting far from crowds and cities, with no other divers for at least 100 miles, Wakatobi seamlessly blends five-star amenities and civilized comforts with a pristine natural environment; a pairing that has secured its reputation as one of the world’s finest destinations.
We have designed a unique itinerary utilizing both the luxury resort and the privately owned Pelagian liveaboard to split our time on land and sea. A group of 20 divers will travel to Wakatobi, 10 divers will remain on land staying in the resort Ocean Bungalow accommodations, diving straight from the resort aboard their private dive boats, and exploring the world famous house reef with unlimited shore diving. The other 10 divers will board the Pelagian venturing into remote and seldom-visited corners of the Tukang Besi archipelago. Guests will enjoy the discovery and adventure to distant reefs, verdant island lagoons and fecund muck diving sites. Half-way through our trip, the groups will switch accommodations and experience the luxury and diving and of the other half, giving everyone a full experience of what Wakatobi has to offer.
Wakatobi is located at the world’s epicenter of coral reef biodiversity and is designated a UNESCO Marine Biosphere Reserve. This means that while diving at Wakatobi you can see the greatest variety and diversity of marine life. You’ll not only see beautiful vistas or pristine coral reefs, but also abundant colorful reef fish and rare and unusual cryptic ‘critters’. For sheer reef scenery and marine life variety, you won’t be disappointed with a diving holiday at Wakatobi. Nowhere else do you have such ease of access to miles of pristine reefs with diverse topography, life and highlights.
In Wakatobi you can enjoy diving 365 days a year, there is no period or season unsuitable for diving. The underwater visibility is mostly between 20 m and 50 m, with an average of 35 m or 100 feet. Regardless of skill level, all divers are welcome in Wakatobi since dive sites can be extremely varied and tailored to experience. Divers will find steep walls, overhangs, sandy bays, coral gardens, underwater pinnacles, and seamounts.

This one of a kind itinerary offers both land and sea accommodations during your 11 night stay. Wakatobi is an exclusive resort, with just 17 Ocean Bungalows, 9 Palm Bungalows and 4 Villas. You will find yourself slipping into Wakatobi’s easy rhythm, rejuvenated by its comforting ways – freshly prepared and appetizing food, comfortable accommodation, sensational diving and friendly, personalized service. Accommodations are within easy walking distance of all amenities (restaurant, spa, and more) and all are just a short distance from the beach and the ocean. Each hand-crafted villa and bungalow is spacious, quiet, comfortable and just a few steps from the ocean. All are air-conditioned with wi-fi satellite internet access, along with comprehensive amenities. All your meals and snacks (chef-prepared in our beachside restaurant) are included throughout your stay.

Pelagian’s spacious salon is complemented by a refined dining area, modern media centre and dedicated camera workroom, while several open and shaded deck areas offer additional space for privacy and relaxation. The master suite provides all the comforts one would expect of an upscale hotel suite – all other cabin levels are also spacious, with full en-suite shower rooms.
The beautiful Master Suite that spans the full width of the vessel (and occupies the entire bow on main deck) offers all the comforts of home and is the most spacious cabin available on any dedicated dive motor-yacht that we know of.
A King Size bed offers relaxing and restful sleep. A generously proportioned lounge with a love seat provide the perfect place to watch videos on the HD flatpanel TV with Blu-ray DVD player, listen to music, read, or work on your laptop – in total privacy. The roomy bathroom is contemporary in decor and equipment, featuring top of the line rainforest shower and vanity fittings.
The Superlux cabins offer fresh, bright spa-like environments for guests. From the spacious floor plan, to the wall art and the smallest decor details, these cabins evoke a feeling of tranquility and restfulness. Both of these cabins feature a walk-around, queen-size bed and separate day bed/generously proportioned extra bed. No need to climb over your partner in the middle of the night to reach the bathroom or in search of a drink!
Hanging bedside tables, floor-to-ceiling wardrobes and large drawers under the beds offer guests ample space to store personal items. Adjustable, high-intensity reading lights hang from the headboards for convenient night-time reading. Spaciousness extends into the beautiful bathrooms featuring a glass shower area, a big vanity with spa-like fixtures and great lighting. These cabins are, of course, air conditioned with private controls.
The efficient layout of the deluxe cabin creates the perfect accommodation for a couple or two dive buddies looking for their own space. This cabin features two beds; one wide enough for two people, the other accommodates one person. plenty of large cupboards and a small loveseat offers a place to sit, read, and maintain your dive log or work on your laptop. This cabin also has a spacious bathroom with shower and toilet. Air conditioned with private controls, of course.
Tukang Besi/ Wakatobi archipelago: There are more than 40 dive sites accessible directly from the resort. The Pelagian is able to travel to the more remote sites.
